The New Zealanders claimed the tournament in what may have been the greatest series win for the Redcliffe side since 2002 when they swept the All Blacks to make it seven Tests and their sixth in as many years.

Cameron Smith capped an impressive run of form from the 22-year-old who bagged a tries, second try and penalty for the fourth successive game after kicking his second goal of the season.

“I’ve worked with him a lot over the last three years, but I think it was a real pleasure to put in two big penalty tries against him tonight,” coach Steve Hansen told the media.

“That was an absolutely special experience as we all know that Cameron is a very, very good bloke. He’s a really, really good player, as we’ve said, so there’s a sense of pride and determination that comes with that.”

Smith has only one cap but 바카라사이트he’s had two tries and scored another for the team to clinch their maiden Grand Final, which begins on March 29 against the United States.

“There’s an inherent thrill in that game,” said Hansen. “You look at what players like that are able to do when they’re out there.

“He’s a very good bloke. We’re delighted to have him in the team for the series against England because it’s a real, big series and we’re sure to give our best effort.

“The one thing we do know, if anyone knows how to turn it around he’s our one true bloke. The biggest credit goes to our performance against Scotland and also to the way we defended on the day and that’s som바카라사이트ething that we’ve got to keep getting better at and to build on.

“I’ve been really pleased with him playing. We know the way he can play footy. We do expect him to do well here.”

In doing this with the series win over the United States, Hansen got a win over the next opponent, Samoa at Eden Park, the venue of the New Zealand squad to face Canada in their first international match since 2010.

He added: “It’s nice. It helps. The fact that we can be the two best teams in the world will put us through some difficult times this year. We were one of the teams trying to play good footy and we’re getting a lot better at it.”
